Prompt: Write a dramatic monologue from the perspective of a fictional/non-fictional character. Should have 12 lines, first person, optional rhyme couplets.
The eyes are looking at me
-as they did when I first fell -they never relent to be
staring into my very self. I know they
see me trying to escape these towering prison walls by way
of the Thin Man- dead. Everything about him
was so skewed- like the eyes- so slim
you’d wish to never be born
as twisted as he but for the fact he could reach his long worn
arms out to escape this pit. I sit confined yet
for the fact I can almost reach the rim. I fret
there were years between us before,
now only moments. Eyes see who I am at my core.
